Light up the skies this Halloween !

Through our friends in Raheny Business Association we were very proud to partner with Dublin City Council this Halloween to light up the skies around Raheny❣️ ✨

It took weeks of preparation from DCC and QLX Lighting and resulted in a stunning show 🙌

We were very happy to provide our rooftop area as the location for the display and hope it gave our neighbours and friends in

Raheny some joy this Halloween 🎆🎉

What Suaimhneas means to me

Life in Suaimhneas has become a big part of all our lives. Every morning we arrive in looking forward to meeting everyone, having tea, a chat and a bit of banter before the days work. If we come in with any worry on our mind, it is soon forgotten. We all need each over ever so much, especially now that the virus has us all home-bound and isolated.  Well we can all still phone each other and have a chat and this helps to cheer us up. The initiatives members are taking to overcome the challenges of cocooning are a clear manifestation derived from the experiences of Suaimhneas.

The daily contact from our Director and Deputy Director is at the heart of this success.

Man is a social being and we all need each other.

Quiz night in Suaimhneas

We held a social in Suaimhneas on the 3/3/20 which was a Quiz.

There was a good turnout from our members. It was a very enjoyable night.

The teams consisted of four teams of four. And there was 6 rounds consisting of 10 questions.

We took a break after 3 rounds .

The topics that we covered were, general knowledge, public logos, and movies and music.

We had pizzas and drinks for refreshments.

The winning team were the raheny rascals they were very surpised that they won, as it was a very tight quiz which was closely followed by Charlie’s angels. And the A team and Genisis  came 3rd and 4th respectively.

And there was prizes for 1st and 2nd place.

A good night was had by all and we are looking forward to our next social.

Suaimhneas Goes Bowling!!

To break up the Christmas period members and staff of Suaimhneas met up on Monday the 30th of December for a game of Bowling. We had a really good turnout, with 10 members and 2 staff attending. First off, we met in the Northside Shopping Centre in the morning where we had a good breakfast.

Afterwards, we made our way to the bowling alley in the Plex in Coolock. WE had a very competitive game but eventually the winner of the day was John. We then had some tea and coffee and we relaxed and caught up with how everyone got on over the Christmas. A very nice day was had by everyone and it was a very successful social.

Christmas Markets!!

On Friday last we decided to go to Dublin Castle to see the Christmas Markets. We met at the spire in O’Connell Street and the group of 18 of us went to Anne’s Cafe on North Earl’s Street for breakfast. As the markets did not open till 12, we spent the morning catching up on Christmas shopping. Afterwards we got the Luas to Trinity and walked the short distance to the castle. In the castle there was a magical atmosphere in the air, the castle had been transformed into a winter wonderland with a huge amount of trees and decorations. There were plenty of food stalls and people selling handcrafted gifts. There was also a carousel for rides on hobby horses. Afterward we had seen all the castle had to offer, we went for a coffee on Grafton Street to relax and reflect on our day. A wonderful day out was had by everyone.
